BIO
Chase Thompson, aka ORYN, is a Nashville based songwriter, producer, and recording artist, who specializes in the genres of pop, alternative, and rock. He is best known for his production, songwriting and frontman efforts in Night Argent, an alternative rock band whose sophomore EP ‘The Fear’ (2017), notably made its way to Billboard’s Top New Artist Chart, drawing media attention from the likes of FUSE, Red Bull, Consequence Of Sound, Alternative Press, Paste Magazine and more.
ORYN has performed alongside high-profile acts including Imagine Dragons, X-Ambassadors, Andy Grammar, and The Zombies. On top of that, he has landed co-writing and co-production roles with many talented producers, including John Feldmann (Neon Trees, Biffy Clyro, 5 Seconds Of Summer), Brian Fennell (SYML, Third Eye Blind) and JT Daly (K. Flay, Paper Route, Mutemath).
Further accolades include taking home two Grand Prize Awards at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, two First Place Awards at the International Songwriting Contest, one Grand Prize Award at the West Coast Songwriting Competition, and Grand Prize at the Ernie Ball International Battle Of The Bands, as Night Argent.
ORYN works with a hands-on, DIY approach. For him, creating a vibe is often the result of taking risks. His work is marked by a tenacity to experiment, and a sound that is bold, colourful and dynamic. Above all, ORYN doesn’t see it as his goal to dictate the vision, but instead, to work with the artist with the aim of enhancing what is already there; elevating the idea while still staying true to its intent. Here, he aims to serve the song, and not the ego.
ORYN currently operates out of Nashville based recording studio and production house Classic77.
